• Profile Information: Your display name and any dietary preferences or food allergies you choose to share during onboarding.
• Recipe Data: Recipes you create, including recipe names, ingredients, instructions, cooking times, images, and notes.
• Cookbook Data: Custom cookbooks you create, including names, descriptions, and cover images.
• Meal Plans: Weekly meal planning data including which recipes you assign to specific days and meals.
• Grocery Lists: Shopping list items you add, including item names, quantities, and checked/unchecked status.
• Imported Content: When you import recipes from external URLs (such as TikTok or Instagram links), we process the URL to extract recipe information.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use our App, we may automatically collect:

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
• Usage Data: How you interact with the App, including features used and time spent in the App.
• Log Data: Error logs and diagnostic information to help us improve the App.

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features

• Sync your recipes, cookbooks, meal plans, and grocery lists across your devices
• Process recipe imports from external URLs using artificial intelligence

Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase for:

• Authentication: To securely manage user sign-in and account creation
• Cloud Firestore: To store and sync your recipes, cookbooks, meal plans, and grocery lists
• Cloud Storage: To store recipe images you upload

OpenAI

We use OpenAI's API to:

• Extract recipe information from social media URLs

Apple

Your data is stored securely using Firebase's cloud infrastructure, which employs industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

1. Going to the Account section in the App
2. Selecting "Delete Account"

Cookio is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such information.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
